Maruti Wagon R seven Seater MPV (YJC) will make its India debut at the two thousand sixteen Auto Expo, while the launch will take place sometime later in 2016. In fact, the company has already imported two units of the vehicle in India for R&D purposes. One of them is powered by a 1,197cc, K-Series petrol engine, while the other one comes with a 1,248cc, DDiS diesel motor. The company also reported to provide the list of components to its vendors that will be used for the vehicle.

Based on the Wagon R hatchback, this MPV will be placed below the Ertiga and above the Eeco. Upon its launch in the country, Maruti’s fresh MPV model will face a rough competition from the Datsun Go+. Just so you know, the vehicle was unveiled as a concept at the two thousand thirteen Indonesia International Motor Demonstrate. The diesel variant will be powered by a 0.8-litre twin-cylinder DDiS one hundred twenty five engine that also does duty to the Celerio. Tho’, there is no clarity about the petrol unit. The MPV’s petrol model might either come with a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder K-Series or the Swift’s 83.1bhp, 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine. The company might also suggest CNG and LPG fuel options with the MPV, but at a later stage. Transmission on suggest could be a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT.
