OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. —
A 46-year-old woman and her 3-year-old daughter who died Thursday in a hazmat incident on Florida’s Turnpike were identified Sunday, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said.
A trooper found the figures of Latifa Lincoln and her daughter Maksmilla Lincoln Thursday afternoon in a Porsche Cayenne near mile marker two hundred twenty four in south Osceola County, said Twis Lizasuain, a Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.
The SUV was bruised when it struck a guardrail in the median, but it’s believed an unknown hazardous substance killed the Lincolns, not the crash, Lizasuain said.
A trooper and two deputies were shortly hospitalized after they were exposed to the substance in the vehicle.
The road was closed for two hours as officials investigated the harmful substance.
The Medical Examiner’s Office hasn’t determined the victims’ cause of death.
