Mahindra To Launch three All Fresh Cars By 2015
Mahindra and Mahindra has been the car maker which has managed to have success written all over it for the past duo of years or so as the company’s SUVs have been performing more than just well in India as well as abroad. The company has moved to number three position in India courtesy its success in the SUV, MUV and the derivatives market segment and has put its main competitor, Tata Motors on the number four position. The company has been working overtime for fairly some time and today we have for you the company’s roadmap for the next three years.
The Year two thousand fifteen would see the company’s Tata Safari Storme rivaling Scorpio getting a major overhaul and the next generation Scorpio is expected to be fairly different from the current Scorpio. The company will launch the Mahindra Reva E20 after the budget for the year two thousand thirteen gets announced and there’s a clarity regarding the subsidies to be provided by the government to the electrified vehicles. It is expected to cost around Rs.5-6 lakhs, depending upon the subsidy from the government. The Verito CS will make its way to the roads in April-May two thousand thirteen to rival the likes of the Dzire CS and the upcoming Honda Amaze at a price tag of sub Rs.6 lakh.
The company will slow down on the launching spree for the next three years and instead of launching entirely fresh products, will concentrate on launching the refreshed versions of its existing cars in year 2013-14. The company will keep on providing its cars minor updates till two thousand fifteen which is when the company is expected to launch the next generations of its existing products. The company will launch an altogether fresh petite car in the Indian market in the year two thousand fifteen as this is the segment the company is presently not present in and the puny car segment gives around seventy percent of the car sales in India.
It will come at a price tag of sub-Rs four lakh and then the company will launch India’s least priced Compact SUV which will be placed below the Quanto. The SUV will slot in inbetween the petite car and the Quanto and will carry a price tag of around Rs.4-5 lakhs. This SUV and the mass market car would be developed with the help of the company’s recently acquired subsidiary, SsangYong which means we would get fairly modern looking cars instead of the old-school design philosophy being followed by Mahindra.
Mahindra is reportedly developing six fresh engines with smaller displacements to power the petite cars from the company in future. Mahindra surely intends on moving up the ladder from its number three position and they seem to have collected the right ingredients for it as well. Now they just have to make all these factors come together in the form of some real solid cars and who knows they might be contesting with the Koreans and the Japanese for the number one position in the Indian automobile market in some years from now.
