Law enforcement investigate a fatal car accident on Riverside Road on Friday morning. Two victims were dead at the scene, and two more were pronounced dead at Mosaic Life Care. Those killed were teenage boys, ranging in ages fifteen to 17.

Four people in a vehicle reportedly stolen Friday morning are dead after an accident on St. Joseph’s northeast side around midday Friday.
Two victims were dead at the scene, and two more were pronounced dead at Mosaic Life Care. Another three people, including one in a 2nd car, were transported to the hospital with various injuries.
Captain Jeff Wilson with the St. Joseph Police Department said the crash on Riverside Road near Cook Road involved two vehicles. The four-door white truck, which was the allegedly stolen vehicle, contained six occupants. The person believed to be the driver of that truck was among the survivors, Wilson said.
“The (suspected) driver of the stolen vehicle is being treated at the hospital but has been arrested,” Wilson said.
Sgt. Chris McBane, St. Joseph Police Department, said the bods have been sent for autopsy and those killed were teenage boys, ranging in ages fifteen to 17.
Another person was life-flighted to KU Medical Center after primarily being treated at Mosaic, Wilson said.
Wilson added that the other vehicle was a blue Dodge truck occupied by a middle-aged masculine who also was taken to Mosaic with moderate injuries. McBane confirmed that occupant is a 46-year-old masculine.
“The investigation will proceed,” he said. “Traffic officers will proceed to reconstruct the scene and investigate this, and then our detective personnel will work the stolen-vehicle side of this investigation.”
When asked about further details on the collision, Wilson said the white vehicle was traveling northbound, and the blue truck was traveling southbound.
“Other than that, right now it’s a matter of reconstructing this accident scene and determining what led to the accident,” he said.
Several law enforcement agents and emergency personnel responded to the accident shortly after eleven a.m., and Wilson said these types of accidents are difficult for everyone involved.
“Our hearts go out to the victims and the families in these circumstances,” he said. Two people in a stolen vehicle have been announced dead at the scene of a horrific accident on St. Joseph’s east side. According to police, the crash involved two vehicles. The stolen vehicle contained five occupants. In addition to the two fatalities, the remaining three were transported to Mosaic Regional Hospital and were in critical consider.
The other vehicle had a single occupant who was also taken to Mosiac with serious injuries.
Police were urging motorists via social media to avoid the intersection of N. Riverside Road and Cook Road.
Several law enforcement agents and emergency personnel responded to the accident.
