Do not rent from ZOOM Rent A Car, Mississauga, ON, Canada
Drivers beware! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS CAR RENTAL COMPANY. you are better off by renting from a more reputable car rental company. They will force you to buy the CDW (Collision Harm Waiver) or find any other venues to charge you more than what was quoted. They will also charge you “pre-authorized security charge” for $1,800 and after you come back the vehicle, they won’t cancel it.
Do yourself a favour and avoid future headaches, just rent from AVIS, Budget, Hertz, at the end, you will be saving more.
This is sooooo old news. Have a look at this thread. You could have added to it if you had search the forum.

Yeah well the fresh news is that Zoom Renta A Car is STILL practising poor and questionable business ethics, they are running some sort of scam or fraud with insurance for bruised vehicles is my opinion, as it seems, they attempted to charge me $1700 dollars for a chipped windshield and a puny pre-existing dent that the inspector failed to write on the sheet when exploring, which I missed. Very likely my fault, but I did not incur the chip on the windshield or dent the car. See the inspector closely if you do need to rent from them, however I very recommend going to a reputable company, unless you want to be paying for the pre-exisitng damages they have on their vehicles, that they don’t pay for,but chuck the bill onto their unassuming customers. They didn’t even ask me to come inspect the vehicle, I had to go after the dude outside! Don’t trust them EVER. Cheap at very first but they will get you in the end! 🙁
THIS car rental company is hideous and misleading. They advertise unlimited mileage, and then when you get to the location they tell you, you have 200km a day and are not willing to accomodate anything else. They are unspoiled scammers. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. They have horrible customer service and horrible ethical values.
Well that’s almost true. For anyone reading this thread in the future, the T&Cs actually say this:
>>Rental Restrictions-Kilometers are unlimited as long as the vehicle remains inwards the province of rental location, with a maximum of 3000km. If the vehicle is traveling outside of the Province or you are a Local renter, kilometers are 200km/day, 1400km/week and 4000km/month.
Unlimited kms does not apply to twelve passenger, cargo vans, cube trucks, pick up trucks and luxury/speciality vehicles.<<
The T&Cs themselves, when read and understood, demonstrate that comments on this thread can reflect that someone has not read the T&Cs.
