BMW unveils quickest M5 to date
BMW recently unveiled the all-new M5 high-performance sedan. Now on its 6th generation, the German carmaker says that this will be the quickest and most agile version to date.
Comparing it with the previous model, the all-new M5 features deeper character lines, larger kidney grille, and a sharper set of headlights providing it an aggressive look. The M5`s fresh 20-inch rims, re-designed rear diffuser, M rear spoiler further enhance its sporty stance.
Meantime, the M5`s special variant called the «Very first Edition» comes with the variant-exclusive Frozen Dark Crimson Metallic paint. It will also have high-gloss black kidney grille, M gills, and four tailpipes for a more classy appearance.
Inwards, the cabin is covered in Extended Merino leather. It also boasts multi-function front seats with heater, pneumatic backrest, and electrified adjustment that suggest greater lateral support and convenience. On the other arm, the Very first Edition will have a Piano Finish Black complemented by the car’s production number on a plaque placed on the center console.

Under the spandex hood of the M5 resides the brand`s Four.4L V8 M TwinPower turbo gasoline engine. This power unit can generate six hundred hp and seven hundred fifty Nm of torque and launch the high-performance sedan from a standstill to ninety seven kph in just Three.Two seconds.
It`s then paired with an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic that permits the driver to switch gears using either paddle-, sequential-shifts, or go utter automatic.
BMW also exposed its M xDrive – a model-specific system that permits the driver to select where to send the engine`s power. Options include the default all-wheel-drive; the M Dynamic Mode (MDM) that sends power where it`s needed for optimum traction; and a unspoiled 2-wheel-drive mode.
Aside from that, the M5 comes with a broad range of options for a dynamic driving practice like the Variable Damper Control (VDC) and M Servotronic steering. Both features are available with three modes: Convenience, Sport, and Sport Plus. All of these functions can be seen and configured on the M5`s central touchscreen display and steering-wheel mounted controls.
The all-new BMW M5 will be available on certified BMW centers in the US next year with its pricing to be announced closer to its launch date. Will the M5, especially the Very first Edition, reach local shores? We`ll have to wait for an official announcement from BMW Philippines.
